ART GALLERIES > Michael Janssen Gallery

In 1995, Michael Janssen opened his first gallery in Cologne where it operated for twelve years and held over eighty exhibtions. In this early period, the gallery hosted exhibitions with artists such as Lynda Benglis, Pino Pascali, Peter Zimmermann, Gert and Uwe Tobias and Thomas Grünfeld. In 2008, all activities were moved to Berlin.

Currently located at Potsdamer Str. 63, 10785 Berlin, the gallery continues to introduce emerging artists such as Joris van de Moortel, Stijn Ank and Assaf Gruber amongst others. Aiming to also reintroduce the work of older artists, the gallery has showcased works by Gianfranco Baruchello, Rose Wylie, and Lili Dujourie.

With the addition of a second space in Singapore, the gallery’s international contemporary program has now expanded to include Asian Artists such as MAP Office, and Aiko Tezuka, as well as South East Asian artists such as Titarubi,  Handiwirman Saputra, Ho Tzu Nyen and Jeremy Sharma.

Notable special projects such as “Keep it Simple. Keep it Fresh” - a collaboration between Meg Cranston & John Baldessari and “Baby Formula” - Ai Weiwei's first solo exhibition in Southeast Asia, both of which were held in the Singapore space, complete the program.
